Christ Church was organized under the ministry of the Rev. Robert Davis,
who commenced missionary services in Reading in the spring of 1823,
under the patronage of "The Society of the Protestant Episcopal
Church, for the Advancement of Christianity in Pennsylvania."
The Church was admitted into union with the Convention of the
Diocese of Pennsylvania, May 12, 1824.
