I went and had a hunt for Edwards W Green 1809 ~ 1868 in the 1850 and 1860 United States Federal Census on Ancestry.com. I found several individuals of interest as you can see below. I like the Edward Green from Franklin, Warren, Ohio as the best candidate. I went to the 1870 census to see if the Edward Green from Franklin was still there and he was not. This is more evidence that he is the right man.
