This note is carried over from the original site, where it was already posted by November 2004 — "last fall" refers to around fall 2003, not a recent event.
Last fall the Norwich (CT) Historical Society reconstructed the tomb of Samuel Huntington and his wife in Norwich, CT. The remains of Samuel and Martha had to be removed while the work was being done. Although the coffins had deteriorated we were able to retrieve the coffin plates and attach them to the new coffins that the deceased were transferred to when reconstruction was completed.
