From the funeral card

IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE OF CHARLES E CRAY

Died May 8 1887

Aged 13 years, 6 months.

A precious one from us has gone,

A voice we loved is still,

A place is vacant in our home

Which never can be filled.

God in His wisdom has recalled

The boon his love had given,

And though the body moulders here

His soul is safe in Heaven.

Transcription only — no photograph of the card was preserved. The contributor adds: "Note: this is an unknown factor in the research of Jenkinson/Reeves/Thornbugh from the Indiana area. Please contact and I will send you a copy of the card." Sources differ on the birth year: the title of our original posting gives 1864, while the card's stated age of 13 years, 6 months implies a birth circa November 1873. This record follows the card.
