Contributor's notes & card translation

English translation of the card text: In pious remembrance in prayer of the honoured gentleman Alois Grabmeier, stonemason of Weibing, lance corporal (Gefreiter) in the Royal Bavarian 6th Reserve Infantry Regiment, 4th Company, who suffered a hero's death for the fatherland on 9 January 1917 in Romania, in his 31st year of life. Honour to his memory! (Printed by J. Nothhaft, Deggendorf.) These small prayer cards (Sterbebilder) were given to family and friends in the Roman Catholic tradition.
