Max Joseph Häußler,
Infanterist im 21. Inf.-Regt. 4. Komp.,
geboren am 23. August 1898,
Infolge schwerer Verwundung am 28. März

Joseph Haeussler, who died 28-3-18. Soldier in the 21st Infantry Regt
English translation of the card text: In pious remembrance in prayer of our dear son and brother Max Joseph Haeussler, infantryman in the 21st Infantry Regiment, 4th Company, born 23 August 1898. As a result of a severe wound received on 28 March 1918 in the breakthrough battle, he died a hero's death for the Fatherland at the dressing station that same day, and was buried in enemy territory. Prayer: O God, author of that love which death does not dissolve, receive his soul into Your kingdom; grant to him, who fell in the holy fight for the Fatherland, a share in Your eternal glory. Our Father. Hail Mary. Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love! Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation. "Nürnberger Volkszeitung." These small prayer cards (Sterbebilder) were given to family and friends in the Roman Catholic tradition.
