SARAH A. HANKS,
Born Nov. 24, 1842.
Died July 16, 1909.
Age 67 yrs. 7 mos. 22 days.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.
We have lost our darling mother,
She has bid us all adieu;
She has gone to live in heaven,
And her form is lost to view.
Oh, that dear one, how we loved her!
She is hard to give her up!
But an angel came down for her!
And removed her from our flock.

- Henry Hanks (brother, 26, deals in stock, born Illinois)
- Mary E. Hanks (daughter, 13, born Iowa)
- Lydia R. Hanks (daughter, 11, born Iowa)
- Jesse W. Hanks (son, 8, born Iowa)
- Julia A. Hanks (daughter, 4, born Iowa)

We know this is the right Sarah because she is also with husband George R. in the 1900 census for Iowa in Adair County, Grand River Township, and her birthdate is given as November 1842.
