English translation of the card text: In pious remembrance in prayer of the virtuous young man Franz Hölzlwimmer, [cottager's?] son of [illegible], parish of [illegible], soldier in the Bavarian 15th Reserve Infantry Regiment, 11th Company, holder of the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Military Merit Cross, who fell on 23 November 1916 at the age of 23 years. The remaining prayer text and printer's line are illegible. These small prayer cards (Sterbebilder) were given to family and friends in the Roman Catholic tradition.
