The memorial card

From the funeral card

Whom the Lord Loveth He Chasteneth

There is no Death! What seems so is transition;

This life of mortal breath

Is but a suburb of the life elysian,

Whose portal we call Death.

In Loving Remembrance of

Mrs. Amilia A. Lenz,

Died, Dec. 23, 1891.

Aged 28 yrs, 1 mo., 5 days.

A precious one from us has gone,

A voice we loved is stilled;

A place is vacant in our home

Which never can be filled.

God, in His wisdom, has recalled

The boon His love had given,

And though the body slumbers here,

The soul is safe in Heaven.

The name/date/age panel and header banner are clearly legible on the photograph. The two poems are below this scan's resolution to read letter-by-letter; the text given here matches two widely-used Victorian mourning verses (the header quotes Hebrews 12:6; the inset is the opening of Longfellow's "Resignation"; the closing scroll is a common period memorial verse) closely enough in outline to identify them, but has not been verified letter-for-letter against the card.
