Alois Mager, who died 20-7-16. Soldier in the 20th Reserve Infantry Regt. German War Graves shows he is buried in Beaucamps-Ligny. Block 8, Grave 237.


English translation of the card text: Christian remembrance in prayer of the honourable young man Alois Mager, soldier in the 20th Reserve Infantry Regiment, 3rd Company, who died a hero's death for the Fatherland on 20 July 1916 in an engagement at Fromelles, from a shrapnel shot to the head, in the 21st year of his life. Honour to his memory! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us! (100 days' indulgence.) These small prayer cards (Sterbebilder) were given to family and friends in the Roman Catholic tradition.
