IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE OF

Mrs. William Mellinger

Died Dec. 10, 1928.

Age 47 years.

Gone but not forgotten

A precious one from us has gone

A voice we loved is stilled;

A place is vacant in our home,

Which never can be filled.

God in His wisdom has recalled,

The boon His love had given,

And though the body slumbers here,

The soul is safe in Heaven.

Contributor's notes

Mrs. William Mellinger, died Dec., 10, 1928 age 47 The contributor writes: "This death card came from estate photos of Pennsylvania in & around Connellsville, Mount Pleasant, Scottdale & surrounding area. These came out of a local Dayton Ohio estae of GEORGE MELLINGER ... plus Civil War era Scottdale Pennsylvania photo of BARBARA MELLINGER. The MELLINGERS were well known Pennsylvania coverlet weavers."

The deceased is identified only as Mrs. William Mellinger — her own given name does not appear. The second photograph is the Civil War era image of Barbara Mellinger found with the card, not the deceased. Original spellings in the contributor's note ("estae") are preserved.
