Gone but not Forgotten

Dearest father, thou hast left us,

And our loss we deeply feel,

But 't is God that has bereft us;

He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee,

When the day of life is fled,

When in heaven with joy we greet thee,

Where no farewell tear is shed.

Transcribed from the photograph. The card is a black mourning card with gold print, photographed alongside a second card for Otto Kohlman (indexed separately). The poem's "Dearest father" suggests the card was issued by his children. H. F. Wendell of Leipsic, Ohio is the card printer, not a place associated with Reinhardt.
