Isabel (Ault) Fisher
Isabel (Ault) Fisher, daughter of the late John and Eliza Ault, and wife of Henry Fisher, passed away at the family home in Mexico at 9:30 o'clock Friday night of influenza after a period of invalidism that extended back over several years. The attack which brought her life to a close came upon her on Monday of last week. She was born in Jefferson township on Sept. 10, 1855, and when death claimed her she was sixty-six years, five months, and fourteen days of age. She grew to womanhood on a farm near Mexico, and January 16, 1878 was united in marriage to the surviving husband. To this union were born the following surviving children: Ira Fisher, Bertha Fisher, and Tony Fisher. Three brothers and one sister also survive, who are Albert Ault of Mexico, Isaac Ault of Denver, Willard Ault and Mrs. Ellen Easter, both of Twelve Mile. All of her life was lived in Jefferson township and about eight years ago she with the family moved to Mexico. She was a good christian lady, being a member of the Church of the Brethren.
The funeral services were held in the Church of the Brethren at Mexico at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. Frank Fisher, and burial took place in Greenlawn cemetery.
Isabel (Ault) Fisher Obituary 2
Isabell, daughter of John and Eliza (Price) Ault, was born in Miami Co., Ind., Sept. 10, 1855. She departed this life at her home in Mexico, Ind., on February 24, 1922, aged 66 years, 5 months and 14 days.
She was united in marriage to Henry Fisher on Jan. 16, 1878, and assumed the motherhood of his daughter, Cora, who died over twenty years ago. This marriage was blessed by three children, Ira, Bertha and Tony, all living in the vicinity of Mexico.
Thirty years ago she and her husband united with the Church of the Brethren and has since lived a consistent Christian life.
She was a great sufferer with cardiac asthma for a number of years but was tenderly cared for by her daughter Bertha. She finally succumbed to the dread influenza.
Although her sufferings were great, she bore them bravely, often longing for the call up higher.
Her desires always were for the purity of the church and the good of her family.
Besides husband and children, she leaves five grand-children, one step-grand-daughter, three brothers, one sister, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
The family desires to thank all those who have aided during the sickness and death of wife and mother.
