B. C. Flory, retired Shedd (Oregon) farmer dies

Burtred Clyde Flory, 74, dies at his Shedd community farm home last night. The retired farmer has been a Shedd resident since 1919, having lived previously in Tacoma, Washington. Mr. Flory was born in Colfax, Washington, on October 20, 1874. He attended Albany (Oregon) college for several years and finished his education at Sodaville, in the class of 96. Mr Flory married Wilma Nichols at Tacoma in 1906. Mrs. Flory died in 1943.

Mr. Flory was an active Mason belonging to Shedd Lodge No. 79. Survivors are one daughter Dorothy Flory, two sons, Keith Flory and James Flory. Two sisters also survive Mr. Flory, Mrs. Carrie Parker, Renton, Washington, and Mrs. Fena Reeder, Tacoma Washington.

The clipping says only that he died "last night" and carries no newspaper name or issue date; the death year 1948 comes from our archive's index entry for this record ("Burtred Clyde Flory 1874 - 1948, Oregon") and is consistent with his stated age of 74.
