Sarah D. SPAINHOUR

Sarah D. SMITH, daughter of Thomas and Frances SMITH, was born March 22, 1871, and died Aug. 8, 1933, age 62 years, four months and sixteen days.

On March 1, 1903, she was united in marriage to Joe S. SPAINHOUR. To this union was born one on, Raymond, of the home. The deceased was one of a family of eight children, three brothers and four sisters, of which only one sister, Mrs. Will ROLLS, of Lone Jack remains. She was born and lived her entire life on the farm, three miles north of Lone Jack, where she passed away, with the exception of four years she spent in Oak Grove, where Raymond attended high school.

She was a member of the Lone Jack Christian church and lived a consistent Christian life. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, one son, Raymond, and one sister, Mrs. Will ROLLS, and many other relatives and friends.

Transcribed verbatim, including the newspaper's typo "was born one on, Raymond" (for "one son"). The journal's date (8-8-33) is the same as the stated death date. The stated age (62 years, 4 months, 16 days) is one day short of the interval between the stated birth and death dates (4 months, 17 days) — transcribed verbatim.
