This ledger book is a fantastic one-of-a-kind genealogy resource for Oswego County, New York. The Ledger contains a day by day record of all the people who had dealings with the mill. If you had ancestors living in Oswego County, New York you may find your ancestors are in this book.
Bonus find: this record also includes a bound-in list of electors (voters), and the Stevensons show up right on it — Robert, William, Clinton, Simeon, and Joseph Stevenson are all registered. Even better, most of the book's blank pages were later filled with penmanship and arithmetic practice by Samuel's own son, Lewis A. Stevenson — the 5-year-old "Lewis Stevenson" from the 1860 household above, grown into a teenager and signing his name and address, "S.W. Oswego, N.Y.," over and over, one page dated November 1870. A real family keepsake tucked inside what looked at first like a stray extra document.
