This great old ledger book was the property of Samuel Hinds, of Lincoln County Maine. The ledger starts in 1832 and has 169 pages containing hundreds of local Lincoln County Maine names.

I had a look in the 1830 United States Federal Census and found a few of the folks that are listed in this ledger. They are living in places like Bristol, Bremen, Dresden, St George.

I have scanned all the pages from the ledger and put them online. The Samuel Hinds ledger is a fascinating look into life in Lincoln County Maine in the 1830s.
