This coffin plate was found in West Nissouri Township, Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada.

I think John might be John Alexander Elgie. A son of Peter Elgie and Margarit Mitchell. The Elgie name is well known in Middlesex and Perth County. There are lots of Elgies living in this area to this day.
