Annie's notes

This is a different type of funeral card than what I was used to seeing. Probably because of her place of birth and what they would be used for. She was the sister of my ggrandmother: Elizabeth Eliza Cooper Adams, b. January 30, 1833, Pennis Farm, Fawkham, Kent County, England.

She was a nurse and assisted at my mother's birth just two weeks before her death. She was widowed between 1891 and 1901. In the 1901 British Census she was widowed and living with a brother. My ggrandmother went to England in 1902 and brought Elizabeth back with her.

This funeral card is like a booklet and comes in an envelope, which in this case is addressed to my grandparents. So I imagine that others were sent to Canada, England, France and Australia where her brothers and sisters were living. The envelopes are white with a black border.
