61 unique names transcribed from the monument's three plaques. The 1914-1918 "Men of Meaford" plaque (36 names, initials-and-surname) is duplicated almost name-for-name by a separate "HONOUR ROLL" plaque at the statue's base (43 names, footed "Their name liveth for evermore") — the base plaque adds 7 names not on the Men-of-Meaford plaque (Cann, Gower, McMillan, Spencer, Ward, Wilson, Watson), so those are the only ones added as new person entries below; the other 36 are not double-counted. The 1939-1945 Meaford-and-St.-Vincent-Township plaque (18 names, full given names) rounds out the total. A 2026-07-22 re-check against full-resolution photos of both WW1 plaques resolved earlier uncertainty: the name previously transcribed as "A. Write" reads clearly as "A. White" on both WW1 plaques. Two names have genuine cross-plaque spelling variants worth flagging: "G. Clark" (Men of Meaford) vs "G. Clarke" (Honour Roll), and "E. Thompson" (Men of Meaford) vs "F. Thompson" (Honour Roll) — both plaques are clear and legible at this initial, so this looks like an inconsistency on the monument itself rather than a transcription error. Remaining names marked [?] were hard to read with confidence on the Men of Meaford plaque specifically.
