MRS. HENRIETTA BARNES

Mrs. Henrietta Blanche Barnes, 93, widow of Hazen of 128 King George Highway, Newcastle died Tuesday, Aug 27, 1985, at The Miramichi Hospital.

Born in Jones Crossing, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Goodfellow) Jones. She attended St. James and St. John's United Church, Newcastle. She was a Silver Cross Mother, and a former member of the Red Cross Society. She attended the Old Bouie School and graduated from Harkin's Academy in 1908.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sue Craig of Antrim, New Hampshire: Mrs. Lillian Schafer of Jeffery, N. H.; Mrs. Ted Matchett (Ida) of Thunder Bay, Ont.,four sons, Max of Newcastle, Russell of Edmonton, Alta.; Gerald of Burlington, Ont.;Bev of Newcastle; three half-sisters, Mrs. Annie Masterson of Aberdeen, Washington, Mrs. Rita Hicks of Portland Ore.,; Mrs. Mary Manderville of Millerton; one half brother, Ira McKay of Sunny Corner; 32 grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Five sons died previously; Jackie in 1933, Wilfred in 1944 in Normandy, France, James in 1955, Boyd in 1983, and William in 1985.
