MRS. BROWNLOW MALTBY

The sudden death of Mrs. Brownlow Maltby was heard of much regret on Saturday, June 3, 1939, when she passed away at the Miramichi Hospital, where she had been a patient for three weeks.

The late Mrs. Maltby, who was 53 years of age, was before her marriage - Miss Elizabeth Jones, of South Esk, and she came to Newcastle at an early age, residing here for almost forty years. She is survived by her husband, four sons and eight daughters, Fred of Amherst, Harry of Detroit, Mich., Howard of Brandon, Man., Morrison at home, (Marguerite) Mrs. Campbell Morrison of Burnt Church, (Hazel) Mrs. Major Jagoe of Newcastle, (Marion) Mrs. Neil Mullin of Summers, Conn., (Lillian) Mrs. Ellis DeWitt of Halifax and Nan, Edith, Betty and Jean at home. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Hazen Barnes of North West Bridge, four half brothers, Fred Jones of Nelson, Howard Jones of Montreal, Ira McKay of Strathadam and Mark McKay of Winnipeg, four half sisters, (Mary) Mrs. Hunzie Manderville of Derby, (Reta) Mrs. Clifford Keating of Saint John, (Hazel) Mrs. Fred Pearson of Aberdeen, Wash., (Annie) Mrs. Masterson of Hoquiam, Wash., and an uncle, James Jones of Jones' Crossing.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon with service at the home at 2:15 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. W. Forth.

Burial was made in the Miramichi cemetery.
