DEHOFF-- At Osnaburgh, Ohio, sister BARBARA DEHOFF, wife of brother A. K. Dehoff, aged 76 years, 9 months, and 10 days. She was born in Stark county Ohio and was married April 16, 1840 (in Columbiana county Ohio). This union was blessed with eleven children - six sons and five daughters, of which number one son and two daughters preceded her to the spirit world. Our sister united with the Brethren Church in 1840. She had several paralytic shocks. When she breathed her last, she was 18 miles from home with one of her sons. She was anointed last April. Funeral services by elders Samuel Sprankle, Edward Loomis, and the writer, from I Thess. 4: 13 to 18 inclusive.

Both readings are preserved; this record follows the obituary text and records the death as 1893, the issue year — the notice states no explicit death date. The index entry's '1857' appears to confuse her with her daughter Sarah Dehoff, who died December 11, 1857 and is a separate record in this archive. Her birth date is not stated in the obituary (the index entry claims 1817, consistent with age 76 at an 1893 death); no birth date has been recorded.
