Donegal Cemetery, in Elma Township, Perth County, was opened in 1862 and was the original site of the Donegal Methodist Church, which was replaced in 1911 by the present United Church located about half a mile east, in the hamlet of Donegal. The Atwood Presbyterian Church also had a cemetery at the same site. In 1928 the two churches deeded the property to the community.
