About this record
Both this plate and the plate for Abbie E Wood were found in Vermont. The engraving shows that both plates were made by the same hand but not at the same time; the engraving on Jotham's plate is more finely done than on Abbie's.
This coffin plate for Abbie E Wood has no date but from the style of the coffin plate we can tell it is from around the 1850s.
I went and had a hunt for Abbie E Wood and Jotham E Wood in the 1850 United States Federal Census on Ancestry.com. I beleve I found Jotham as you can see below but Abbie is not with him. I can not explain the fact that Abbie is not with him other than Abbie may have died before the 1850 census.
