Died in Sandy Creek Church, Stark County, Ohio, May 20, 1869, sister BARBARA SHIVELY, wife of brother Martin Shively, aged 46 years, 2 mo., and 4 days. She leaves a family of 9 children to mourn their loss. Funeral text "Ye are the branches". John Nicholson.

The Gospel Visitor was the German Baptist Brethren monthly periodical edited by Henry Kurtz at Poland, Ohio, published 1851 onward. The notice is signed by John Nicholson. "Sister" and "brother" are Brethren religious styles, not family relationships.
