Died in Sandy congregation, Stark county, Ohio, June 13, 1865, sister SARAH SHIVELY, aged 39 years, 7 months, 23 days. She was a consistent member of the church almost two years.

Transcribed from the Gospel Visitor, the German Baptist Brethren monthly periodical edited by Henry Kurtz at Poland, Ohio (published 1851 onward). Sources differ on her birth year: our archive's index entry gives her years as 1826–1865, while the stated age at death (39 years, 7 months, 23 days on 13 June 1865) would place her birth in late 1825 rather than 1826. Both readings are preserved. A Salome Shively of the same Sandy congregation died the same year (see companion record).
