Ontario, Canada Deaths database (Ancestry): Herbert Voegtle, abt 1880, died 17 Sep 1896, Waterloo, Male. Note: the coffin plate reads Sept 19th 1896 — date discrepancy unresolved.

Cause of death: Herbert died in a small typhoid fever epidemic in the Linwood area.

Family context: Herbert's mother Caroline Voegtle (née Hilker) died in 1881 (see related record). His father John Voegtle remarried Catharine Voll in 1886 and died by suicide on 3 Sep 1887 in Waterloo. Other Voegtle family members found in Ontario Deaths database: Ella Voegtle (abt 1873, d. 8 Jan 1920), Norman Voegtle (abt 1899, d. 25 Dec 1929), Paulina Voegtle (abt 1855, d. 6 or 7 May 1885), all Waterloo.
