In Loving Remembrance of Isaac Boal Died July 13, 1916. Age 79 years.

Poem reads: 'A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. God in His wisdom has recalled, The boon his love had given, And though the body slumbers here, The soul is safe in Heaven.'

The card was found in Kansas. H. F. Wendell of Leipsic was the card's publisher; 1898 is the design's copyright year, not a date in Isaac Boal's life.

Family research

Father: John Boal, b. 1792 in Pennsylvania. Death: 1874 in Perry Co., Ohio. Burial: Old Harbaugh Cem., near New Straitsville, OH. Mother: Anna Reaney, b. 1801.

A further note in the original submission adds: John Boal, son of Archibald Boal and Jane Gordon, was born in 1792 in Pennsylvania. He married Annice (Anna) Reaney on Sept. 30, 1819 in Guernsey, Ohio. She was born Jan. 3, 1801 in Washington, Pennsylvania. She died Nov. 5, 1842 in Perry, Ohio and was buried in Hazelton Cemetery, Shawnee, Ohio. He later married Nancy Baker on Oct. 20, 1846, in New Straitsville, Perry Co., Ohio. She was born in 1826. He died in 1874 in Ohio and was buried in Harbaugh Cemetery, New Straitsville, Ohio.
