OBITUARY: HUGH WALTER DICKSON September, 1928, Rosemont, KS.
Hugh Dickson, aged merchant, who operated the Rosemont store for forty years, died Sunday morning at his home in Osage county. He had been ill about a year, death resulting from paralysis.
Mr. Dickson was past 75 years of age. He was born in London, England, March 5, 1858. He came to New York in 1876, and then lived in Kansas City for a time. Later he managed the Rosemont store. He was married to Mary L. Laws October 12, 1891, near Rosemont. The widow, a daughter, and a son, Mrs. Alice Kennedy and Walter B. Dickson of Kansas City, and three grandchildren survive.
The funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Rosemont M. E. Church, with Rev. N. D. Bigelow of Grace Episcopal Church of Ottawa, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
